the brief
NYCPS wanted a website that showcased the vast amount of video content that they have had produced over the years that highlights the success stories of the schools, students, and families within the school system. Their administrative staff handled the content strategy, while I worked on the overall design strategy and Webflow development.
responsibilities
Working closely with the administrative staff, I was responsible for:

Building the Site in Webflow: Designing numerous static page content and dozens of multi-reference CMS Collections in Figma with a detail-oriented, responsive, and SEO-oriented product.

Migrating Away from WordPress: Including ~500+ videos, articles, newsletters, and more.

Integrating External Functionalities: Integrating external dependencies such as GSAP for custom interactive components, and Finsweet's Attributes V2 to power a robust technical search interface.

Training the Team: Empower the team to confidently manage and update the website in Webflow, while leaving the design work to me.

SEO Performance: Ensuring optimized SEO strategies during and after the migration.
results
Prioritizing the main content challenges of highlighting key videos on the home page and library, I created an entirely new website dedicated to showcasing spotlighted NYCPS videos on their home page, as well as standard NYCPS content on a completely custom library. Leveraging Finsweet's V2 Attributes, I established a seamless Content Management System (CMS) that allowed for easy tagging and filtering of videos based on tags, keyword, districts, and boroughs. Additionally, I created an all-new branding refresh that more accurately captured the mission of NYCPS.
